Negotiate for Transportation Costs

Most people who buy and sell know very little about transportation and its high cost. Yet, with just a few minutes work and the help of a transportation specialist, substantial benefits can be gained.

Transportation is the hidden funny money of buying and selling because no one pays attention to it, except those who sell transportation services.

Rates vary enormously between truck, rail, air, United Parcel, Fed-Ex, and US Postal service deliveries. Differences between one and three day delivery prices are quite large.

Transportation costs can be reduced at no expense to either party. Sometimes buyers are better off handling freight themselves because their empty trucks pass the seller’s factory. In other situations, sellers may ship in such large quantities that they are favored by bulk rates.

The more you look into transportation, the more win-win opportunities you discover.
